Flag Day
Flag Day commemorates the adoption of the American flag which occurred on this day in 1777 by the Second Continental Congress. The U.S. flag, affectionately known as the “Stars and Stripes,” was officially adopted with thirteen alternating red and white stripes and a union of thirteen white stars on a blue field. Additional stars were added for each new state as they became part of the union. Pictured below are photos of “Old Glory” being displayed at various Jewish functions.
