"Gentlemen and Their Hats"
Gentlemen’s fashion through the years often included hats not only as a fashion accessory but also a fashion statement. Below are photos from the JHSNJ archives depicting an assortment of hats and the men who wore them.

Men wearing an assortment of hats at the Daughters of Miriam ground breaking ceremony, 1926. Notice the popularity of the Panama hat. Could the stout man in the black coat wearing a top hat in the center of this picture be Mayor Nathan Barnert or maybe even William Howard Taft???!!!!
