In anticipation of the JHSNJ Zoom presentation of “The Rise and Fall of the Catskills and the Comedians Who Made Them Famous,“ we have issued selected photos that our readers have submitted of their experiences in the Borscht Belt. This photo was taken by Jerome Koransky at the Concord Hotel (date unknown). Buddy Hackett is in the striped shirt on the right. The woman in the back row in the middle laughing is Ed Koransky’s mother, Florence Koransky. The man behind Buddy Hackett's right shoulder is believed to be Pete Kanter. The others in the picture are presumed to be Patersonians.

This photo was taken at the Pines Hotel in September 1973. In the front row from L-r are Harrine Katz (age 12), Bertha Ginsburg Katz (Harrine’s mother who was a volunteer at Daughters of Miriam, school #26 library and Cub scout leader), Molly Katz Reiffin (worked in her husband Murray’s law office), Dorothy Katz (a Paterson school teacher), and Harrine’s cousin, Helen Katz (age 13). In the back row from L-r are Julian Katz (Dorothy’s spouse who owned Jay Home Furnishings) and Edward Katz (Harrine’s father who worked in industrial real estate).
