Black Jewish Reconciliation: Rebuilding The Bridge Event at Temple Beth Tikvah

From the event on February 12, 2025. Avi Dresner, Joy Kurland, Donzaleigh Abernathy, Reverend Dr. Willard Ashley, and Arthur Barchenko
This was a very moving and powerful presentation from two people who not only descend from icons of the civil rights movement but have earned their own status in the fight for civil rights.
The most significant message of the night was not to let the forces that are trying to divide us win. We need to work to bring all communities together to push back against discrimination.
As soon as the recording is available from Temple Beth Tikvah we will embed the video here.
In our current climate as the world has become so polarized, this lecture was of utmost importance. Both Avi and Donzaleigh put forth a clarion call for the necessity of re-building bridges between the Black and Jewish communities through creating opportunities that will foster mutual understanding, dialogue, and collaboration.
— Joy Kurland

Our own Joy Kurland, along with Arthur Barchenko of Beth Tikvah, was instrumental in organizing this event with the presenters.
Joy acted as the master of ceremonies for the evening.
