UJA
The UJA (United Jewish Appeal) was a Jewish philanthropic organization that existed from its creation in 1939 until it folded into the United Jewish Communities in 1999 and then merged in 2004 into what today is known as the Jewish Federation of North America. The function of the UJA - Federation of North Jersey is to raise funds and implement programs for Jewish causes both locally and worldwide. One way for the Federation to raise funds was to count on local volunteer groups, organizations, and individuals to solicit and contribute donations. "Super Sunday" phone solicitations, sponsored luncheons and breakfast gatherings were some of the primary fundraising events. The photos below picture some of the organizations and individuals that helped raised donations.
