Downtown Shopping Days

Remember the good old days shopping in the downtowns of our cities?

The Jewish Historical Society is planning an in-person program to reminisce about the downtown shopping centers in our area — Paterson, Passaic, Rutherford, Hackensack, Teaneck, Englewood, Bayonne, Jersey City, Hoboken, etc.
 

We need your help to make this possible. If you are the descendant of a retail store owner in one of these areas, we invite you to join our guest panel to tell us about your family’s business.
 

If you have pictures, newspaper articles, documents, etc. we would like to include them in our exhibit. Please scan and email them to jhsnnj.org, or mail them to the address above. We will make copies and return the originals. Do you have clothing or other items? Please contact Debbie Grossman (debrag@jhsnnj.org) or call the JHS office to make arrangements for us to receive the items.
