"Veteran’s Day"

Nov 11, 1919, was the first anniversary of the ending of World War I and President Wilson declared that day “Armistice Day”. In 1954 President Eisenhower changed the holiday name to “Veterans Day” to honor all veterans, not just to signify the end of a single war.
