Old Paterson Storefronts

In 1938 a pictorial house-by-house survey of Paterson, NJ was commissioned for the purposes of assessing taxes. The JHSNJ was fortunate to obtain many of these vintage photos. Below are selected storefront photos depicting the Jewish flavor of life during that era. If you have any historical photos of Jewish life in North Jersey, we would appreciate it if you would consider donating them to our organization.
