Oscar’s presentation will highlight the rich heritage and contributions of the Jewish people to American society over the last 250 years. He will discuss the colonial beginnings of early Jewish congregations and the growth of Jewish communities during the Industrial Revolution. Through the wonders of Zoom we will tour the Touro Synagogue in Newport, RI, the first synagogue in the United States, which is still thriving today, and the Lower East Side in NYC, as well as other historic Jewish sites across our country.
 

Oscar Israelowitz, a licensed NYC tour guide was born in Brussels, Belgium. Oscar has written more than 75 books, predominantly on Jewish topics. He presented The Wandering Jews of New Jersey to the Jewish Historical Society in 2022.
